Statement of commitment

This accessibility statement applies to content published on the Where Your Money Goes website.

We are committed to making this website accessible in accordance with SI 358/2020 and the EU Web Accessibility Directive.

Compliance status

This website is Partially Compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines due to the non-accessible content listed below:

• tables: Some tables may not have correctly defined headers, which can make them difficult for screen reader users to interpret. (WCAG guideline 1.3.1)
• graphs and charts: Some graphs may not provide accessible text alternatives, making the information difficult to access using assistive technologies
• PDF documents: Some PDFs may not be fully accessible and may contain issues such as missing bookmarks (WCAG guideline 2.4.5), unstructured tables (WCAG guideline 1.3.1), or insufficient document tagging
• third-party content: Embedded content from external providers, such as YouTube videos, may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA requirements and is outside our direct control

This is not an exhaustive list of non-accessible content.

Some accessibility issues remain due to legacy content, technical limitations of certain visualisations, and third-party content that is outside our direct control. We are working to address these issues as part of our ongoing accessibility improvements.

How we test the Where Your Money Goes website

We use the WCAG level AA guidelines to test how accessible the website is. We use the Website Accessibility Conformance Evaluation Methodology (WCAG-EM) approach to assess the site.

We have completed accessibility audits and will continue to do this.

We regularly engage with the National Disability Authority (NDA) which is the monitoring body for accessibility of public sector websites in Ireland. The website is subject to annual reviews by the NDA.
